FIxed orthodontics is directed to patients with permanent dentition. According to the necessities of the patients, the dentist may use traditional brackets, in metal, or aesthetic brackets, in ceramics. This type of treatment uses mechanical forces (orthodontic wires, springs and elastics) to allow the repositioning of the teeth. In some cases, dental extractions of some teeth may be necessary, to create the right space in order to allow the teeth to be positioned in their ideal place.
