Periodontal disease
\nThe periodontal disease is an inflammatory disease caused by the microorganisms in the bacterial plaque. This disease affects the periodontium, the structures that surround the tooth and keep it sealed to the tooth. If not cured, the infection may continue in depth: the bone tissue is gradually destroyed, the gingiva withdraws, usually only in part, from the tooth, creating pockets into which the bacteria accumulate; the teeth gradually lose their support, becoming more and more mobile.
\nHow to cure it
\nIn order for the therapy to succeed the improvement of oral hygiene is necessary, and the interruption of habits like smoking is advisable, for they may reduce the possibility of success of the therapy.
